Today was a good day!

Productivity wise: I added Demon Lover and Hypothetical Timeline to GSM, alongside a bunch of misc art. To this site I added to the fun stuff page and updated the art blog. I also wrote a review and drew a comic.

we did a bit of home improvement to start the day out and then hopped in the car to drive to a lavender farm.

It was a humid day since it rained this morning, but you could smell the lavender as you walked among the rows. It was great! The lavender was fairly picked over but we got 6 bundles into our basket and got to see a lot of cool bugs.

I really like lavender. I think next year I’ll try to grow some in our backyard. I haven’t tried to grow anything this year because, uh, no reason. I just didn’t feel up to it. It felt refreshing to be somewhere where “frolic” was on the table.

The fields were COVERED in these silver-spotted skippers, which I just called bird shit butterflies while we were there because the spot on them looked like a spot of bird shit. They’re pretty but still. Bird shit butterflies.

Karen found a praying mantis pretending to be some leaves! She also found a wolf spider the size of my palm and it dashed away before I could get a picture.

Look at these beautiful little bundles. I took two out of the six and divided them up further, to take some to work and hang some up at home. I put some into the vase at my altar as well. Can’t you just smell them through the photo?

Plus you can see one of the criminal sweatbees that were making Karen lose her mind out there. A butterfly slapped the shit out of her and made her scream as some point, too. Still, we had fun! And there were no biting insects. I found myself fairly comfortable despite the bugs deciding to get in on the buffet of sweat trickling down my face.

Later on, after we got home, we walked a bundle over to Ted and Hannah’s to give to them. They exchanged cinnamon rolls with us (delicious). On the way, I caught a shiny Deerling in Pokemon Go.

Now, worn out after all the walking and driving… you would think we were done…

But we all realized that a new Filipino restaurant was doing their soft opening and we decided to pick up and go. It was more crowded than expected but the chicken was moist and delicious! I had a chicken inasal sandwich with fries, which were dusted with cheese dust. Josh had the same except his fries were plain with a side of banana ketchup. They offered me some before trying it and I had to insist I do not like banana ketchup. Too sweet for me. Karen discovered she also does not like it, lmao. She had an inasal bowl, which she seemed to really enjoy, and sweet corn fries. Which were fries dusted in sweet corn flavor dust. Pretty good.

We went to the rolled ice cream and boba place a few doors down that I frequent and got ice cream & boba. Well, I got boba and they got ice cream. We chatted about Toy Story toys existing in a horror movie and then bustled on home and I got busy with drawing again.

Since I got back into doing site dev, I’ve noticed I’ve been engaging with my own art a lot more. I’ve been exploring the internet more. I’ve been doing more. It feels good, it feels fun. It feels like it’s connecting to my other interests in a way I like and I appreciate that.

Plus I’ve been collecting things from the internet. Little souvenirs. It’s fun! Gods, I love it.

From my meanderings on the internet:

jesus christ i’ve been thinking about this for fucking DAYS
