Written in 2022:
Being sick aside, Angel Densetsu is one of my all-time favorite manga. It was never licensed in English, so I plan to one day print the scanlation and bind them at home. It’s hard to find copies that would benefit the author firsthand, since most copies I find in JP are secondhand. I’ll someday have the copies, though.
It’s by Norihiro Yagi, the same author who created the popular Jump series Claymore. Claymore really echoes the art journey you can see in Angel Densetsu, which I unabashedly love. The mangaka’s improvement is stellar and wonderful, and I really enjoy the silly concept.
Here’s the synopsis lifted right from Wikipedia:
Angel Densetsu is a story about Seiichirō Kitano, a kind and naive boy with the heart of an angel, but the sinister looks of a devil. This paired with his horrible luck and awkward social skills causes many misunderstandings, leading people to assume that he is a delinquent and heroin addict, and (unbeknownst to himself) results in a career as the head thug, or “school guardian” at his new school.
It’s funny, cute, and it’s a fun gag/fighting manga.
