I don’t think I will ever elect to make my own yogurt again. That said, at the time, I was trying to make as much as I could at home so that we could keep to our scant food budget of about $100/month.

Here’s what I wrote underneath this comic in my sketchbook:

  1. Boil milk (pref whole, but I use 2%)
  2. Let the milk cool until warm enough not to burn (I dip my finger in— if I can keep it in for 10 seconds, it’d good)
  3. Mix in a tbsp of starter yogurt (any plain yogurt w/ active cultures)
  4. Keep warm for 8 hours (we use our electric blanket)
  5. Done!

I made too much yogurt.
