howdy yall, it’s been quite a long time since I decided to be actively on the internet.
i have been interested in making blog posts for a bit and making media-related blog posts over on my media menagerie blog, but i don’t have anywhere to make other kinds of blog posts. i asked myself a lot, who would read them?
answer: you.
well, mainly my buds who i strongarm into paying attention to my projects. i needed a blog post now to add to the list so i can sort old and new as i give the site another revamp in the endless lists of revamps. i’m rather proud of how this is turning out, though, so i’m sticking to my guns. i’m still figuring out how to sort everything and i can safely say that it’s quite motivating to have somewhere to post everything i make that ISN’T social media.
a bud of mine a few years ago turned thirty and went, “i am going to leave social media.” i asked why, and he said it just wasn’t necessary to him. back then i didn’t really get it. that was like… more than six years ago. i definitely get it now, being in my thirties and generally avoiding social media and dancing around in my own little world. sometimes poking around in others. i want to construct my own little room in the internet like the good old days.
the older i get the more i long for a different internet than the one we ended up getting, so i’m going to do my best to participate in the communities i care about, or at least make this part of the internet a space that i can enjoy. or someone else can enjoy!
anyway just LOOK at all this shit i am making for the revamp. i mean, you have no choice, but look at them anyway. i’m not done yet but look at them.

based on one of my larger old sketchbooks and my idea pen

speaking of my idea pen, here it is. it’s a LAMY AL-star and i’ve been calling it my “idea pen” since i carry it with me to note down ideas at work. like that’s 90% of what i use it for. the other 10% is doodling.

i just thought a tiny berry would be cute and i liked the high contrast colors

aren’t charlie and thandi adorable!? they’re skipping to the fan site i built for them, which is also undergoing a slow facelift as i sift through everything i have.

i happen to have a controller sitting on my desk for reference, alongside the CD cover. the book is based off of children of blood and bone, the reaper special edition. the game is vaguely based on a fuzzy memory of kingdom hearts. and the CD is the steven bomb album dropped by caleb hyles that is hanging out on my desk.
anyway, this is the kind of thing i am going to blog about. the internet, progress on projects, personal stuff. i like this long form writing better than the screaming into the abyss of modern social media. i like the control i have here. blogging. yes. full blogging. no microblogging. hehe.
