The Healer Who Was Banished From His Party, Is, in Fact, the Strongest

So I only made it through 6 episodes. Usually when I drop anything, it’s because it’s offensively bad. This is not the case. I dropped this because… it’s not… great. It’s not bad, either. It’s mediocre. Middle of the road. It sure does exist and it sure does sit comfortably in the tropes. It doesn’t

Kenka Bancho Otome: Girl Beats Boys

Harem Scale H: MC has a lot of empathy and is the type to defend A: MC is not angling for it. She’s in an all-boy’s school, so being surrounded by men is par for the course. R: It’s a companion anime to an otome game, so… there’s the kinda romantic and yet masculine relationships.

    Let This Grieving Soul Retire

Harem Scale H: MC elects to duck out of responsibility and send people on errands, only helping when he might get in trouble. A: He knows that these women are very attached to him and there’s lots of them. He will go on dates. R: He doesn’t really look at any of them romantically. E:

Welcome to Demon School Iruma-Kun Season 3

I feel like with every season, this show gets even better and the budget goes absolutely nuts. (spoiler videos) This season is mostly the Harvest Festival, but he do have some training montage stuff in the beginning where Iruma finally learns how to fight! Bachiko is a fun character, and we spend more time developing

Welcome to Demon School Iruma-Kun Season 1

ISEKAI’D BY: Being Sold! I read up to the Battler Party arc but fell off the wagon (this is a common theme, isn’t it?) and so picked up the anime. First off: ear worm opening. It’s funny and very anime. “Why do you keep saying that?” Because there are times when anime is anime and

    The Purge: Election Year

I find it funny that this movie came out in 2016, when Trump won the office for his first term. Like the other Purge film I talked about, the symbolism is in-your-face, criticizing the current government and begging people to trust the system and using their vote to change things rather than taking direct action.

    The Purge: Anarchy

As I watched it, I was laughing to myself. No wonder it is so popular a series. For people like me, it’s a criticism of the government putting systems in place that fuck over the lower class in order to build a world where those on top stay on top, enjoying the fruits of the

My parents went nuts trying to get me to watch this ASAP. My dad says that it’s one that he can’t stop watching if it happens to come up on TV. I’ll call it a suburban John Wick, playing itself straight and yet knowing precisely what it is. I’ll just toss out this scene here.

Welcome to the Menagerie.

Here is where M logs their media activity. Partly because Goodreads is forgettable and keeping physical logs is harder. Sometimes M writes a lot. Sometimes M doesn’t write enough. It doesn’t matter. This is just a for-fun little blog so that M can remember what they thought about whatever they watched or read or played or. Whatever.

What is M?

I read. Voraciously. I have subscriptions to those book things on digital retailers. I consume books at nearly all hours. The hours I don’t spend reading? I’m writing. I’m drawing. I have a problem. I have a problem in that I love to read things that are in the same vein repeatedly. Book journals don’t work and as much as I text my friends screenshots of book passages, it doesn’t scratch the itch. Now I’m going to be doing… tiny… tiny book reports.
