For some reason the diversity feels really forced, as if the author wanted to hit a checklist instead of having actual characters to flesh out the cast. Can often rely on stereotypes and the characters usually only appear to remind the viewer that Yes, We Exist, and by the way, we are (insert PoC/queer/etc label here).
