Trope: American Religion

The worshiping of Extremist American Ideals. Often takes the form of fundamental Christianity bastardized to exalt America, raising a politician to holiness, an admiration of the rich and powerful, and an attachment to the power of guns. Because the depiction is usually used to criticize modern US ideals, it is usually paired with racism, classism, and satirizes the whim of the wealthy.
