WHAT COMES AT NIGHT?!

hOLY MISLEADING TRAILER, BATMAN!!

It’s a technically good film, but it’s not what I was expecting, and by the end of the movie, my dad and I just looked at each other.

“Is it just me or did that movie suck?”

“Yeah, I think it kind of sucked.”

The advertising had a whole angle of something comes. My dad and I waited the whole movie for something to come. You know what came? Travis during a nasty-ass wet dream.

It’s supposed to be an analysis of human behavior, but these people are fuckin wackadoos, and I have unanswered questions and also, fuck the dad in the film. What the fuck happened to the dog. Can someone tell me what was the point of having Travis draw scary things in the woods? What about the fakeout with the illness? What the fuck happened? Was there no budget to do something in the woods at night and they switched at the last minute?

Ooooh sure the red door could be the separation between life and death or some oother thing, but literally, what was the point? What was the point of having the keys round dad’s neck when a child could still wander up and open the door during a night time sojourn? Huh? You’re not even fucking locking the door.

They solve no problems. Everyone dies. The end.

Welcome to the Menagerie.

Here is where M logs their media activity. Partly because Goodreads is forgettable and keeping physical logs is harder. Sometimes M writes a lot. Sometimes M doesn’t write enough. It doesn’t matter. This is just a for-fun little blog so that M can remember what they thought about whatever they watched or read or played or. Whatever.

What is M?

I read. Voraciously. I have subscriptions to those book things on digital retailers. I consume books at nearly all hours. The hours I don’t spend reading? I’m writing. I’m drawing. I have a problem. I have a problem in that I love to read things that are in the same vein repeatedly. Book journals don’t work and as much as I text my friends screenshots of book passages, it doesn’t scratch the itch. Now I’m going to be doing… tiny… tiny book reports.
