🚨INDY [THE MAIN DOG] DOES NOT DIE IN THIS MOVIE 🚨

okay now that that’s out of the way…

now this was an interesting watch. it’s a horror movie from the perspective of a dog— i liked the touch of how the pov was always down at the dog’s eye level. everything was eerily lit in fascinating ways, and those corners where darkness collects were some of the most horrifying visuals in the movie. at first.

it’s a movie that illustrates a dog’s determination to be loyal to their person. To guard and protect. indy, the dog, even tries to save his person from death itself.

i wonder a bit at the symbolism of the family curse— it seems that the curse is a personified genetic illness and the dog’s ability to sense the end. to know when it’s coming and still being there. watching todd (indy’s person) go through this haunting from his perspective is fascinating. we are always aware of the influence of the curse, and/or the illness, and we watch todd get failed by the system over and over again until he loses all hope. he abandons everything in his life, even indy, and still indy comes back. even when todd loses all hope, indy is there. neither always understands the other but indy is always trying to take care of todd.

indy is the dog’s real life name and has an a+ super dog in stupendous acting.

Welcome to the Menagerie.

Here is where M logs their media activity. Partly because Goodreads is forgettable and keeping physical logs is harder. Sometimes M writes a lot. Sometimes M doesn’t write enough. It doesn’t matter. This is just a for-fun little blog so that M can remember what they thought about whatever they watched or read or played or. Whatever.

What is M?

I read. Voraciously. I have subscriptions to those book things on digital retailers. I consume books at nearly all hours. The hours I don’t spend reading? I’m writing. I’m drawing. I have a problem. I have a problem in that I love to read things that are in the same vein repeatedly. Book journals don’t work and as much as I text my friends screenshots of book passages, it doesn’t scratch the itch. Now I’m going to be doing… tiny… tiny book reports.
