Bring Her Back

Following the death of their father, a brother and sister are introduced to their new sibling by their foster mother, only to learn that she has a terrifying secret.

i found this while dickin around and had it in the backlog, but remy requested it so i moved it up the list for adding to our plex.
i had to take a break in the middle. i got upset— one, it’s like watching a true crime unfold. two, the manipulation, the gaslighting, the incredible unfairness of it all— it hit me like a car. three? watching laura undermine andy and piper’s relationship, taking advantage of her blindness to do so, telling absolute lies!
watching a child get punched… and the assailant just scampering away.
oh man good thing i have therapy today.
the horrible lengths one would go to for their own child, while being blind to the pain of others. willfully blind. ignoring it.
i kept watching in the hopes her plans would be foiled and andy could save piper.
sometimes horror movies leave you with that catharsis. other times it just. hrm.
it’s obviously about how grief affects people. how ignorance can make things harder. protecting someone by not telling them everything— that could put a wrench in things. knowing the truth of a loved one after they passed.
it’s a good movie, it was just— well, ptsd does shit.

Welcome to the Menagerie.

Here is where M logs their media activity. Partly because Goodreads is forgettable and keeping physical logs is harder. Sometimes M writes a lot. Sometimes M doesn’t write enough. It doesn’t matter. This is just a for-fun little blog so that M can remember what they thought about whatever they watched or read or played or. Whatever.

What is M?

I read. Voraciously. I have subscriptions to those book things on digital retailers. I consume books at nearly all hours. The hours I don’t spend reading? I’m writing. I’m drawing. I have a problem. I have a problem in that I love to read things that are in the same vein repeatedly. Book journals don’t work and as much as I text my friends screenshots of book passages, it doesn’t scratch the itch. Now I’m going to be doing… tiny… tiny book reports.
