HEED THE TRIGGER WARNINGS
Three stories, each one hitting like a truck on their own.
The first two, Nude Model and Girl deal in underage sexuality, while the last story, Kamiya, is about one’s willingness to give themselves up to be used because of love.
Nude Model sets up the expectations for the rest of the stories. It shows an odd relationship between a fledgling artist and the boy who was dared to try to sleep with her. He decides the fastest route is to be her nude model, and then from there he ends up actually enjoying the role. The act of being exposed and examined so thoroughly, and used in such a way while he is trying to manipulate the artist is interesting. She only sees it in terms of art and shows no interest in a relationship. It ends up bringing them closer, adding dimension to the story.
Girlis like taking a hammer to the skull. The main character is a boy who pretends to be a girl with his voice, enjoying the attention from everyone as they indulge in little fantasies. At the same time, he behaves atrociously towards women, seeing them as nothing but a foreign species meant for sex and use, creatures who are annoying and low.
As he sinks deeper into his pretend world, he says something that triggers dominos falling. He wants to believe that he is more than any woman can ever be, but when he is treated like a woman, he realizes the sort of terrible curse that they suffer in more ways than one.
This is the one I want anyone reading to be wary of. It hurts, dude.
The last one is about adults who are literally being drained dry. Another good one. The symbolism is quite obvious, and watching the literal transactions move and move and move…watching how far someone is willing to fall for the sake of just another moment with the person they like… very good.
Listen, it’s all very good.
