Aaah… what a stupendous collection, with so many big names in comics!
My favorite in this anthology ended up being Written in Stone, by Carla Speed McNeil. I ended up reading it three times back to back, and then once more before I put down the book. (I reread it when I opened the book to check the author again, even).

Each of the stories embody the spirit of scifi so much! And so many wonderful alien designs, including sentient flowers who communicate by folding their petals, and beings that are an ever-shifting amalgamation of many things. There’s critiques on history, colonialism, the never-ending trudge of capitalism— ugh, so good. Not to mention the silly ones, or the ones simply exploring small ideas… vignettes.
My other favorite is The Brides of Cetus, by Meg Gandy.
