Harem Scale

H: This girl is pathologically obsessed with cleaning, which makes her the hero of the realm. She literally cannot stop.

A: Her awareness is limited only to when the Demon King basically puts himself right in front of her and flirts aggressively, but she is unaware of her collection of men.

R: Romance focused between her and the Demon Lord.

E: Demon Lord exists for hotness but it’s very low on the ecchi scale.

M: I ended up enjoying the absurdity of it. It is only tangentially a reverse harem.

Sakura loves when everything is neat, clean, and in its place. She’s on the school Beautification Committee and spends every spare moment mopping or dusting to keep things tidy and perfect. When Sakura is transported to a fantasy world, she’s immediately flabbergasted by how dirty everything is! The land is under a curse which prohibits cleaning magic, and the residents have really let things go. Even the demon king’s castle is a complete mess. Sakura isn’t going to stand for it. She’ll put this kingdom in order, even if it means working directly with the intimidatingly attractive demon king himself!

At first I was thrown by the jokes that are very much localized, but it ended up feeling more like an isekai parody than a serious isekai story. A lot of isekais try to poke fun at the genre, but this one is quite blatant.

This manga’s premise is so stupid it’s funny, it’s so very blunt, and perfect for people going through puberty like right fucking now. I would have thought this was top tier comedy when I was a teenager.

There isn’t a lot to talk about otherwise: it can be cute, it’s instructive in cleaning, and it’s just one of those manga that exists to encourage good habits in readers (kinda like how Cells at Work encouraged people to take care of the little people in their body).

Welcome to the Menagerie.

Here is where M logs their media activity. Partly because Goodreads is forgettable and keeping physical logs is harder. Sometimes M writes a lot. Sometimes M doesn’t write enough. It doesn’t matter. This is just a for-fun little blog so that M can remember what they thought about whatever they watched or read or played or. Whatever.

What is M?

I read. Voraciously. I have subscriptions to those book things on digital retailers. I consume books at nearly all hours. The hours I don’t spend reading? I’m writing. I’m drawing. I have a problem. I have a problem in that I love to read things that are in the same vein repeatedly. Book journals don’t work and as much as I text my friends screenshots of book passages, it doesn’t scratch the itch. Now I’m going to be doing… tiny… tiny book reports.
