Overwork!

The MC pivots the story from the “original” pretty early, and it’s fascinating. Not only that, but she’s mentally three lives in one— what was (pre-isekai), what is (current), and what could have been (novel self’s memories). Not only does she have the novel’s plot in her mind, but she also becomes affected by the memories of the self that went along with the original storyline in the future.

The ML (?), of course, finds her anyway. We’re on the route of older man + older soul female lead. Honestly, I know some people have issues with it but the debate is always one side or the other. If the female lead with an old soul ends up with a partner who is age appropriate to her body, people wonder if it’s alright. And the inverse, an old soul with an age appropriate partner to her mind, is lauded as fetish material. (lays down) There is no winning. Big shrug

That said, romance is not the focus of the series. We just get to watch the FL get stronger and use her OP abilities to progress to her dreams. It does start as a sincere way to escape a horrible end, but it’s clear that the MC soon starts to pursue these dreams in earnest. And. It’s cute.

I really enjoyed it and I’m looking forward to more.

Welcome to the Menagerie.

Here is where M logs their media activity. Partly because Goodreads is forgettable and keeping physical logs is harder. Sometimes M writes a lot. Sometimes M doesn’t write enough. It doesn’t matter. This is just a for-fun little blog so that M can remember what they thought about whatever they watched or read or played or. Whatever.

What is M?

I read. Voraciously. I have subscriptions to those book things on digital retailers. I consume books at nearly all hours. The hours I don’t spend reading? I’m writing. I’m drawing. I have a problem. I have a problem in that I love to read things that are in the same vein repeatedly. Book journals don’t work and as much as I text my friends screenshots of book passages, it doesn’t scratch the itch. Now I’m going to be doing… tiny… tiny book reports.
