Crime Scene Cleaner Act 2

Do me a favor and turn on this song while reading.

Remy let me know the updates existed and are SUPER GOOD, so kudos to him.

The Act 2 update picks up right after the end of Act 1, adding additional story alongside two new game modes: True Cleaner and Nightmare Mode.

A small play sequence bridges the two parts of the game: watching Kovalsky’s daughter grow up, finding dissatisfaction with the job and normal life he goes back to, moving forward despite the ways that crime scene cleaning changed him. It’s a dream-like sequence that shows the slow change in Kovalsky as he begins to reflect on how he felt with his crime scene cleaning.

And then he gets a call from Amber.

This is a very different story than Act 1. Amber’s intent to take revenge on the people that hurt her and her friends brings a more vigilante justice angle to the cleanings, but the stories are just as interesting. The levels are mostly fairly massive, taking at least two hours real time to clean, complete with puzzles and secret passages that require a bit of real fucking around.

My favorite level?

White Peaks was a good one. I liked the robot apocalypse angle, adding a bit of hilarity to an otherwise grim picture. Also, Kovalsky can get shot, so…

Act 2 also brings a new soundtrack to the table, adding CDs from both Nightmare Mode and the new storyline. A new Lulu Suicide drops and, if you’ve been listening to it like I asked, you can agree it’s a banger.

Re: Nightmare Mode, I love how you can replay the entire game with a new context and new collectibles.

Also, two “Communiti” levels! Those were a lot of fun.

Honestly I’m about to go through and replay everything on Nightmare Mode and try to get all my achievos.

Welcome to the Menagerie.

Here is where M logs their media activity. Partly because Goodreads is forgettable and keeping physical logs is harder. Sometimes M writes a lot. Sometimes M doesn’t write enough. It doesn’t matter. This is just a for-fun little blog so that M can remember what they thought about whatever they watched or read or played or. Whatever.

What is M?

I read. Voraciously. I have subscriptions to those book things on digital retailers. I consume books at nearly all hours. The hours I don’t spend reading? I’m writing. I’m drawing. I have a problem. I have a problem in that I love to read things that are in the same vein repeatedly. Book journals don’t work and as much as I text my friends screenshots of book passages, it doesn’t scratch the itch. Now I’m going to be doing… tiny… tiny book reports.
