Jill breaks out of prison the night before she’s set to be executed by her fiancé, Crown Prince Gerald. She’s struck by an arrow while escaping, but instead of dying, she’s transported six years into the past—to the night she and Gerald met. Desperate to alter fate, she instead proposes to the first man she sees, Hadis Teos Rave, her enemy in the future. This is her last chance to get it right!
listen i read the chunk of the manga that is in theabime but not the light novel. i am so curious to see if she ever reveals her true age to rhe emperor, what kind of hijinks they get into, etc etc.
the age gap is huge and they love to just. make the emperor into a… well. pedophile. it’s only contextualized withthe viewer’s knowledge that our protag is 16. in universe he is viewed as eccentric, having married a ten year old girl.
i personally really enjoy it because i am invested in the Lore and i find the pair cute. it IS unsettling tho
the opening pretty well shows the stylistic choices of the overall anime (with the bold patterns thrown in). you have characters that are made to pop with their bold outline and vibrant colors against a backdrop of literally faceless mobs. it IS a good-looking anime that utilizes the 3D models better than average.
honestly for anyone squicked by the age gap, i would recommend 7th time loop instead. 7th time loop has a smaller age gap and ASTOUNDING animation. this one panders to a slightly younger audience with the humor and the maturity level of our ML (he is very nonthreatening to our protag and comes off as someone much younger) but it’s overall a contentious one i think.
