Harem Scale

H: Yuke has a pretty solid sense of justice. That sense is shared by Clover (the party).
A: Yuke is very aware of the fact that he is the only man in a party of women and brings it up repeatedly. He is actively trying to support the women and tries not to treat them unfairly.
R: Everyone loves him but most especially Rain. They’re getting closer.
E: The most ecchi thing is outfits. They don’t really vibe with the weird poses and such.
M: Honestly, this one is pretty good and great to look at.
Harem:
Rain (20 years old but loli), Silk (big-boobed dark elf), Marina (muscled and confident redhead), Nene (catgirl), and Jamie (a former party member who gets redeemed)
This anime is simulcast, so I’m watching along. Right now I’m writing this 9 episodes in (MAL says it’s supposed to have 24). At this point, I think I need to write a page on the Wish Fulfillment thing. This anime just really reminds me that this trope is a fairly common one and you can pretty easily divide a lot of currently popular fantasy anime into a few categories…
Okay, I’m back.
I’m actually pretty jazzed to get to see the second season. Crunchyroll doesn’t have it right now, unfortunately. So. I suppose. Not so simulcast.
In any case— damn, it looks good! It’s vibrant and the effects are excellent.
I really like the fantasy tech they had. Adventurer livestreamers??? A bunch of fun gadgets???? Cool floating screens and shit? Solid, bro.
All the women are treated equally and with respect by the main character, the romance arc takes backseat to the greater threat of people trying to sabotage the party (though the romance is gentle and slow, very cute), we can see a clear increase in skill and the reason for the MC leaving his original party, and then we get into some grey morality… and also, it’s really funny, but they deal with streamers being canceled.
No, I’m serious. Livestreamers are celebrities and they have a responsibility to conduct themselves as public figures. The party that the MC left says racist shit and slurs and get absolutely reamed for it. It’s so funny that in this world of magic and swords and dragons that a party’s greatest concern is not just surviving, but also being canceled. Literally. They get the boot and if they don’t act appropriately with formal apology statements and pay cuts and proper punishments, they can’t stream or do their jobs anymore. Wish some places would do that in reality.
Here’s episode one. Even if you’re not into it, it’d definitely good-looking and pretty fun to watch.
