Lufas Maphaahl rules the land of Mizgarz with an iron fist. Mankind stands no chance of prevailing against the most powerful being in the world and her army of loyal minions—until a band of heroes bests her in an epic battle, sealing her soul away for all eternity. But this is just another day in Exgate Online. Lufas is a player’s avatar and a legend among fans. She even outshines the official last boss, the Devil King. So it’s no big deal to the boy behind Lufas when he logs off after his epic defeat—thankfully, it won’t really be eternity until he can play again. But he’s met by a strange offer, and when he accepts, he’s sucked into the game world and awakens…in Lufas’s body! Two hundred years have passed since Lufas’s defeat, and Mizgarz now lives under the shadow of the Devil King. How will our hero fix his mess? And can he save the world from the one being he never subordinated: the last boss?
I only read to the point the anime ends, so I’m super excited for more already. The anime ended up being FUCKING RAD.
It reminds me of the feeling I had as a kid watching DBZ! The fights are really great with a nice blend between the 3D and the traditional animation. This is the first fight in the anime as soon as it opens:
I love the show of power being appropriately over the top. It FEELS powerful.
Plus, having a wildly cool female protagonist doing this shit is awesome! I know she has a male soul at this point in the timeline, but he slowly transitions to feeling and behaving in his feminine body (where they have Girl Bath Time for the viewers but the character, while embarrassed, realizes that female bodies don’t really Do It for her, and speaking of, neither do male ones).
Check this shit:
The music too is fucking sensational. The transition from orchestra to metal is a lot of fun to listen to, changing with the varying demonstrations of power.
It starts off feeling a bit silly and then it’s just. AWESOME
