I plowed through 6 volumes really fast. I LOVE the delinquents with little hearts of gold. i really love the satirical angle of this where typical horror pops up— followed by reina. my favorite scene was the ghost grabbing an ankle and dragging kokoro away. kokoro was released and everyone looks back to see the ghost being pulled into the darkness, leaving scratchmarks behind, screaming NOOOOO
the horror art was awesome, well-executed. it reminded me of the fuan no tane art a bit, which made it funnier when a fuckin yankee was punching the shit out of a ghost.
like a lot of manga of this sort, it arcs from silly and comedic into heartfelt and intense (while remaining comedic). i think the shift started during the disappearing house/spirit photography arc, where people began to realize just how serious reina was about being an exorcist. seeing them trust her and her dubious ways was impressive.
one of the funniest things was how her barriers work. i imagine becayse she doesn’t rely on god, and instead relies on faith in herself, her talismans have HER authority… hence why they have to be “the worst things you can think of”.

i love this take and i think the six volumes ended up being perfect
the one thing i didn’t like were the tendou cross-dressing jokes… it definitely eased up after the initial stuff and i liked tendou/chii-chan and how the artist depicted the swap with body language and facial expression so clearly. you can tell even by the way the body stands who it is.
i get there’s comedy in a big tough guy being possessed by a little girl but… there was something icky about the way they icked him in a dress at first. hmm
that aside? great manga. 4.5
