I decided to make this graph for the RE stuff, so here we are. This is solidly a catharsis based on revenge upon everyone in the extreme bad. They truly make it black and white in this story— the bad people are the ones who Rape and Kill without remorse, thus making fodder for our hero to kill without care or consequence. It disregards the collateral damage and adds to the hero’s valor.
Yeah I make it sound bad and it is, but it’s a surface level read and I’ve been reading this series for a long-ass time and I’m rather numb to the edgy Rape, Torture, Kill part and like the never-ending killing of the Bad Guy who is Irredeemably Bad.
It’s also a softer revenge versus all the people who looked down on our main character, like, ever, which is why it got a bit of points re: reLIVE.
It gets raunchier, too, and the tone becomes a bit more comedic as more characters are added.
