This was a LOT of fun to read and I have never felt more like pulling out my glue gun and bedazzling my fucking shelves. I have been coming around to letting myself make “bad” art and I think that this book honestly made me feel a lot better about doing what I want. I’ve been facing down a wall of wanting perfection, trying to match what I saw as past perfection, and struggling with ideas.
So yeah, why NOT sculpt your own trophy? Why NOT make a weird wall shrimp?
This functions as equal parts memoir and equal parts guide, sung in the language of my terminally online brethren. I think this would be a great gift for teens and also people like me, in their thirties and writhing about in a self-imposed art block.
