I ended up enjoying the manga after we dealt with all the harem nonsense and it sort of became just part of all of the. people

It’s not one I would recommend though. It was fun once it got moving but it didn’t have the depth I wish it had. My favorite thing about isekai and world management stuff is the nitty gritty. I want to really get into the land management and the people and the trade. we got to tickle the subject but it didn’t do much there. i DID enjoy the brother feud. raoul is my son and i wish to feed him soup.

the powers are interesting, the world building interests me, but overall i would not call it groundbreaking. it’s for people who just enjoy the conceit of the genre already, but not for people looking for something to get hooked onto. The harem part gets more or less dropped once people point out the harem aspect, making me think that it was a direct reaction perhaps to people pointing out the intense ecchi/harem tropes. it could also be intended to hook people in the beginning and then slowly takes it away, just playing it for comedy on the sidelines but focusing on what I personally enjoy better, which is the land and people management aspect of these things.

also, i’ve noticed lately that these shoujo gags have started to move ahead. it used to parody the style of the 70/80s style shoujo:

it definitely has to do with the saturation of style influencing the artist in their younger years, i think. though when i parody shoujo style i tend to lean 70s/80s still because it really emphasizes glittering eyes and exaggerated curls, which is just fun to draw.

anyway.
