Okay so. When I like isekai manga, it’s usually because they did spmething to shake things up a bit. There are five billion underappreciated dudes getting dumped somewhere and having a big-eyed girl who will inevitably begin to be attracted to the MC help get him set up. He will almost always be a humble, nice dude changed by his experience. Hardened a bit.
And there’s lots of people getting reincarnated into monsters. Three big ones off the top of my head, two of which are heavy hitters in the genre: Slime, Kumo desu ga, and Dragon Hatchling. Two of those rely on the former memories of their past lives to move forward, two have this overlap of heroism, they all chase after this image of comfort and humanity and end up having to acquire immense power to protect the happiness they have cultivated.
In that case, the overarcjing themes, Reborn as a Goblin is not unique. And on paper? Kind of one note.
He is a unique monster surrounded by girls and people who love him.
What I like is… the goblins.

HEAR ME OUT.

It’s a unique take on goblins that at first is like… dude what? And then things sort of begin to make sense. And then you meet a person who amounts to god, creating these creatures by living and dying as them. The Genesis thing is great. And watching the politics of it— humans eager to fight and make problems rather than monsters. The monsters so far are… laid back. They don’t care.

This whole other goblin culture gets analyzed, rebuilt, changed— the human culture that once kept them as pets or saw them as threats changes with it.

That’s the bit I find fascinating. Plus I like political intrigue in kingdoms.

Also I learned so much… Japanese history is often referenced, alongside business principles, alongside government hierarchies and feudalism

first impression: i knew that this guy would bone down hard as soon as he could but it’s surprisingly not as ecchi as anticipated so far

i am fascinated by the concept put forth of goblins basically being like bugs

That said biologically it does not make sense to have such a large body and only live for 7 days. it’s a HUGE amount of energy and calories. it doesn’t really allow a lot of culture to be passed down unless the population has large amounts of varying ages… which j suppose they do. skills kind of sidestep having to learn trades. plus: what do they do with all these corpses?

oh right: first loli appeared. this will probably be a harem.
