You know things in manga are dire when I want to praise a manga for treating a child like a child.
Just the little things, man.
Anyway. This aforementioned child shows up one day, declares an ancient dragon her father, and he adopts her as his own once he discovers her home life fucking sucks. From there it’s single dad time!
He learns how to feed her, how to talk to her, gets her a home, gives her knowledge. This girl is getting set up for a future as an OP Protag. It’s cute, it’s domestic, and the story often progresses in unexpected ways.
Again— I like that the child is a child. The weird loli spot is taken up by a different character who does double time as a hikikomori. Then again, none of the ladies are really sexualized. The art style is just very moe. Reminds me of that time in the aughts where snout noses and big eyes was the thing.
Well, then I got to the end of the volume and—
This shit gave me a heart attack— again! It’s usually framed as a possibility. Instead, the Elder Dragon has a dad moment where he realizes his little girl is gonna leave the nest one day. I was sweating bullets, dude. I’ve seen some shit, okay??
Truck-kun makes a surprise appearance in the gag comic at the end of the volume.
